Iceberg spotted off St. Francis Bay

Maritime authorities have issued warnings to vessels to be on the lookout for an iceberg that was spotted some 35 nautical miles southeast of St Francis Bay.

National Sea Rescue Institute (NSRI) spokesperson, Craig Lambinon confirmed that an iceberg, measuring 25 metres in length and 20 metres in height was spotted by the Ntini, a fishing vessel, just southeast of St Francis Bay.

The situation will continue to be monitored to determine the direction and drift of the iceberg.
