A report of an iceberg off St Francis Bay has still not been confirmed. A hunt for the possible occurrence of an iceberg, estimated to measure 25-metres high and 20-metres wide was unsuccessful.

Crew from the fishing vessel, Ntini, that made the report and has since docked at Mossel Bay, have also not produced any photographs of the iceberg.

Craig Lambinon, spokesperson for the NSRI, said that the existence of the photographs was based on rumour, and the captain of the vessel assured him that there was no photographic equipment on board the ship.

Further searches involving aircraft and radar have also been fruitless.
